Last Sunday in Stauffer
This Sunday, August 4 will be our last summer worship in Stauffer Chapel. On August 11 we will be back in Elkins for the academic year.
The students are coming!!
Are you ready? On August 11 we will have all of the Housing and Residence Life student leaders (RA’s/SLA’s) visiting us for worship! How can we welcome them with open arms, smiles, greetings and love? Please go out of your way to meet and welcome these students that have such an impact and influence on their peers.
Eric Wilson to continue preaching
The elders were very happy to announce that Eric Wilson has agreed to continue to preach for the UCC on Sunday mornings through July 2020. We especially appreciate his willingness to preach for us given his already significant time and energy commitment to Pepperdine. He and Sharita are a special part of our congregation and we are thankful for their service!

We are thankful that Diana and Steve Maiorca will be serving as leaders of the Women and Men’s ministries this year. Thank you for stepping into these important roles! They would love to put together a team of people to support this ministry. Please contact them if you would like to be involved.

Update from Alemes
We have received a recent update from Mindi and Dereje Aleme regarding their stateside fundraising efforts. They have been received well, but unable to raise the funds necessary to return to Ethiopia now. The Hollywood Church of Christ cares well for them so they will remain here for the year. This will allow their boys to enroll in school and to care for some health problems. Mindi is looking for a job and Dereje will continue fundraising and periodically going to Ethiopia to encourage and oversee the work there. Many faithful people are continuing the prison work and the soccer ministry. Please pray for this dear missionary family.
Feed the Interns!
A great way to get to know our youth group interns this summer is to invite them over for dinner! or lunch! They would love to share a meal with you. Contact jennifer.gash@pepperdine and firstname.lastname@example.org to connect with them.
