We received three separate important updates this evening:
#1: Malibu Canyon Road is now open in both directions for all vehicle traffic. Drivers, however, should be mindful of falling debris in the canyon, including loose dirt and rocks. Due to fire suppression activities in the area, rocks may have become dislodged from water drops, and topsoil in certain areas may be unstable.
#2: Pepperdine will host a community-wide Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 22, from 11am-2pm. We are hoping to have resident members who would be willing to provide food and/or volunteer to work at the event. There are email addresses on the flyer (above) for people to contact if they would like to volunteer and/or contribute food.
#3: We have a great opportunity to serve our Malibu Community: The Malibu Recovery Center (down by the Malibu Library) needs “greeters” next week. They could use 10 people a day for the following hours of operation: Monday – Wednesday 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. They plan two, four-hour shifts per day. I believe what is involved is welcoming people and showing them the assets available and how to move through the process. Please email email@example.com if you are interested or have questions. I hope we can get as many of us there to help as possible.
