All-Church Pancake Breakfast
The first annual All-Church Celebration Pancake Breakfast will honor all graduating students and our Bible class teachers starting at 9am this Sunday (April 22). The whole church will meet during what would normally be Bible class time to celebrate with and congratulate our graduating students and say thank-you to our Bible class teachers. We want the whole congregation to feel welcome to join us in the Joslyn Plaza for pancakes and celebration.
Young Adult International Food Night
The Young Adult International Food Night is this Saturday evening at the Sturgeon condo. The food and fun will start at 6:30pm! Food will be provided for everyone, but any type of international food is welcomed. Our party is to honor Nate & Falon Barton as they make final preparations for their move to Uganda!
Campus Ministry would love to see you at a church-wide prayer walk this Sunday (April 22) following church service from 11:45-12:30 PM. It will be a time of prayer for students, faculty, church members, and especially the graduating seniors that are so close entering a new stage of life! Snacks will be provided and we will meet in the cafe afterwards to have lunch together.
Men’s Ministry Street Tacos
All junior high, high school, young adult and adult-aged men are welcome to join us for good food and fellowship on May 5 at noon in Baxter Park.
All-Church Camping Trip
The camping trip will be May 25 – 27 at the Ventura Ranch KOA in Santa Paula. Please register and submit payment in order to reserve a space. Register via this form (payment info included): https://goo.gl/forms/cnBUKPz6Vooe3s6B2. Contact Jenny Parmelee with questions.
Update on Missions Contribution
Thanks to the generous giving of the congregation, the missions fund now totals $31,200.00. This is an answer to prayer. One-time or pledge contributions will be gratefully received at any time.
Prayer Ministry Monthly Challenge
Our April prayer challenge is to choose a Bible verse to pray every morning as we’re getting out of bed. One that I (Kari) have used in the past is, “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love for I have put my trust you in. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.” (Psalm 143:8) I wrote it on a notecard read it every a.m. until I had it memorized. You could make it the screensaver on your phone, let your kids write it on a mirror with a glass marker, set an alarm on your phone and title it Ps 143:8. Share your idea or a verse that you’ll be using.
Culver Palms 75th Anniversary
The Culver Palms Church of Christ invites you to its 75th Anniversary next Sunday, April 29 at 10:30 AM. The service will be led by former Culver Palms ministers (Dan Knight, Matt Soper, David Skates, and Doug Cole) and Amy Bost Heneger. A celebratory feast will follow worship prepared by Greek chef and missionary Eleni Melirrytos with dishes from Greece, Syria, and the Middle East. For more information contact Mark Manassee at Markmanassee@culverpalms.org.
HOPE4Kids Festival & Run to Benefit Foster Youth
From Kari Coppinger: “Please pray for the HOPE4Kids Festival & Run on April 28 to be a success in every way, not for the sake of success but for the sake of glorifying God and helping as many as possible by raising awareness and funds. I encourage you to sign up beforehand or on site. Join team UCC in person to run, walk, and/or volunteer or join as a virtual runner. The biggest thing I’m still trying to collect is $10 gift cards to places like coffee, movies, yogurt, Amazon, Target, etc. Donations help keep event costs down and profits to help foster youth high. More details at http://www.raisinghope.org/hope4kids.”
