Out of the Office (Al); Michaela Wall Update & Thanks; Kitty Atkinson Memorial Service (UCC Family News, 7-24-17)

Out of the Office
I am traveling to Utah today for a personal retreat and will return on Friday. I scheduled this time for reflection, planning, and gaining focus for the fall sermon series and the year to come.  I appreciate your prayers while I am out.

Michaela Wall Update & Thanks
Michaela Wall shared her thanks with the church and missions committee as well as a wonderful report from her summer mission trip to Greece with LST.  Her report can be seen HERE.

Summer in Stauffer Continues
Summer in Stauffer continues this Sunday, but it will be the next to last time we worship in Stauffer Chapel this summer. Classes for all ages are at 9am and the worship assembly follows at 10:15am. Dusty Breeding will teach a combined class for adults & teens in Stauffer Chapel on the subject of Abraham & Sarah’s Faith.  The morning sermon will come from Hebrews 10:32-12:3 and is titled, “Endurance in the Face of Failure.”

Praise Team List
We are developing a list of potential praise team members for our Sunday morning services. If you are willing to share your singing gift with the church family in this way, please let me (Al) know and indicate whether you sing soprano, alto, tenor, and/or bass.

Kitty Atkinson Memorial
A celebration of Kitty Atkinson’s life will be held on September 24, which would have been Kitty’s 90th birthday. The details of the memorial service are still in development.

Late registration is $370. The cost for additional campers from the same family is $299 each.  King’s Kamp is limited to the first 120 registrations.

Celebration for Youth Group Graduates
Join us as the Breeding’s Condo (24358 Baxter) to honor our graduating youth group members on Monday evening, August 7, from 7-8:30pm. This will be a time to share a word of encouragement as our students head off to college. Please bring a snack or dessert to share.

Church Office
The redesigned church office is complete and looks fantastic! We will do an open house for the congregation on August 20, but please feel free to drop by and check it out before then.  It is much more open, welcoming, functional, and “church”-focused and features artwork from Avery Falkner, photography from Cecily Breeding, and woodworking from Teller Emmer.  It also has a meeting space and white board for prayer/study groups, Bible classes, and committee/team meetings.
