December 29 Edition

Hello, Church Family!

“And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’ Also he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’”

-Revelation 21:5

He’s making all things new—and not just in honor of the upcoming new year, either.  May we trust and allow Him to continue making us new in 2017!

-Laura Fehlbaum

December 22 Edition

Hello, Church Family!

“And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!’”

-Luke 2:10-14

This week, may we join in with the multitude of angels praising God for Jesus’ birth. Merry Christmas!

December 15 Edition

Hello, Church Family!

And Mary said, ‘My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.‘”

-Luke 1:46-50

This week, let’s reflect on Mary’s ability to rejoice despite adversity that God called her to, since she knew that God had a greater purpose for her life than she could ever image for herself.  May we all be open to adversity for the sake of bringing God’s kingdom to earth.

-Laura Fehlbaum

December 8 Edition

Hello, Church Family!

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

-Romans 5:1-2

Chris Seidman, senior minister at the church I grew up at, recently shared this update on facebook: “A funeral this morn. And one this afternoon. There’s plenty of room for grief at the Christmas table. But Hope sits at the head of it.”  During this season of joy, let’s be mindful of those grieving and in need of hope.

December 1 Edition

Hello, Church Family!

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

-Romans 12:14-18

This Christmas season, and all year round, let’s strive to bring peace.

-Laura Fehlbaum
