September 29 Edition

Hello, Church Family!

“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

-Jesus, in John 4:23-24

May we continue to learn about what it means to worship in spirit and in truth, on Sundays and every day.  A huge “thank you” to Dave Lemley for leading us in studying John 4 at the Young Professional / Grad Student Retreat last weekend.

September 15 Edition

Hello, Church Family!

“Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, ‘Take, eat; this is my body.’”

-Matthew 26:26

“We make little packets of peanut butter [for] malnourished kid[s].  It’s not that they’re hungry—they cease to be hungry because of the deficiencies that they face.  They’re beyond hunger.  So, as with most things in life, if you cease to be hungry, whether it’s in your career or whether it’s in your spiritual life, once you cease to be hungry, you’re dying.”

–Mark Moore, CEO of MANA

Especially if we do not feel hungry for God, take and eat!

September 8 Edition

Hello, Church Family!

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.”

-2 Corinthians 1:3-5

As you’ll see as you read through the prayer requests, this has been another week of heartache and hurt for our church family and our community.  During these times, may we stand by and comfort each other with the comfort we have received and do receive from Christ.
